Why Choose Ecomaids

Why is hiring ECOMAIDS easier and safer than doing it myself?

ECOMAIDS, an eco-friendly non-toxic cleaning company, takes great pride in promoting their non-toxic products used to clean your home. At ECOMAIDS we do not use harmful toxins such as carcinogens, sodium hydroxide and sodium hypochlorite.

In hiring ECOMAIDS makes it easier on you to do other things that need to be done, such as taking care of your family. A persons family is always number one which is why would anyone want to bring harmful cleaning products into their home. At ECOMAIDS we are here to help you, so you don’t feel overwhelmed with juggling your family, pets, work, cooking, cleaning and etc. We will take care of the cleaning for you so its one less thing for you.

Using ECOMAIDS as your cleaning company is much more safer than going to the supermarket and buying the leading consumer products. Products advertised in the store contain harmful toxins that shouldn’t be brought into your home.

Why should I hire ECOMAIDS instead of an individual cleaner?

There are actually a number of important reasons why hiring a service such as ECOMAIDS is preferable to hiring most individual cleaners:

  • You don’t have to do the hiring, background check, time-keeping, payroll, etc. ECOMAIDS handles all of these tasks as part of its day to day operations.
  • You don’t have to worry about reporting and paying social security and employer taxes, or withholding and remitting employee taxes. If you don’t do all of this with an individual, you may be violating the law.
  • You don’t have to build and maintain a boss-employee relationship with our cleaning technicians. You can deal directly with the owners and managers of our company and receive the consistent respect and courtesy you deserve as a client.
  • ECOMAIDS is insured and bonded; individuals typically are not.
  • ECOMAIDS carries workers compensation and disability insurance, reducing your liability for injuries. Individuals usually don’t maintain these types of coverage.
  • ECOMAIDS has a fully-trained staff, so there’s always a back-up in the event that your regular cleaning technician is unavailable. This isn’t the case with an individual.
How much does ECOMAIDS cleaning service cost?

The price of your cleaning is based on the type of visit, the size and configuration of your home, and the frequency of service. Our standardized pricing system makes it easy to configure a variety of cleaning options to meet your needs and budget. To receive a free estimate for cleaning services, simply fill out the form on our website and we’ll get back to you immediately with our pricing.

How often should I have a regular eco-friendly cleaning done on my home?

This is a question we get asked quite often but are never able to answer completely. A number of factors go into determining the frequency of cleaning that needs to be done on your home.

Some of the key questions that should be considered in drafting your residential cleaning schedule include:

  1. How many children do you have?
  2. How many pets do you have?
  3. What is the size of your home?
  4. What is your budget for professional residential cleaning services?
  5. What are your reasons for needing green cleaning services?

There is no set recipe for how often you should be cleaning your house. However, the most commonly chosen option is bi-weekly. This allows you to do some light cleaning after meals or messes. Then, every other week an ECOMAIDS team will arrive to do a more routine all-around cleaning on your home. This way you can keep your house sparkling. You will never let the cleaning task get out of your control, and you can maintain a healthy place to live for your family and pets.

Still, some lifestyles and special needs may require that you need environmentally friendly cleaning more often or less often. If you have a child who is ill and especially at risk for being affected by outside contaminants, you may choose to have your home cleaned more often. But some people who maintain a heavy travel schedule work—and are not home often—may find that a visit from ECOMAIDS once a month may be enough.

The only way we can really answer this question is to meet with you in person to discuss your individual needs. Contact us for a free in-home consultation today and let us help you with your green cleaning needs.

How do I arrange access for you if I’m not home?

We suggest one of the following methods of arranging access, but we can accommodate virtually any arrangement that is convenient for you:

  • Provide us with a key to keep in our key safe
  • Leave a key for us in a specific location
  • Provide us with a code for your garage door
  • Leave a door unlocked
  • Leave a key with a neighbor or building manager
Do I have to provide any cleaning equipment or supplies?

No. ECOMAIDS equips its cleaning technicians with all the tools, equipment and products to effectively complete each job. We provide the vacuums, mops, dusting equipment, cleaning cloths, and cleansers, so you don’t have to worry about purchasing anything or having other people use your stuff. Plus, we maintain strict guidelines to ensure all our equipment and products meet various green cleaning certification standards.

Is there anything I should do to prepare for my cleaning?

You’d be amazed by how many people we encounter who are afraid their homes are too dirty to have cleaned by somebody else. We believe that when you hire a professional to clean your home, you shouldn’t have to “pre-clean”. We’re ready, willing and able to come into virtually any environment and make it sparkle. So don’t be embarrassed by the level of cleanliness of your home – whatever the condition, we promise we’ve seen worse! Just let us know what to expect and we’ll plan accordingly. If you’d like to help us be more efficient, feel free to pick up any clutter such as dirty clothing, toys, paperwork, etc. prior to our arrival. However we’ll gladly organize these items as we clean – should you expect anything less from a premium cleaning service?

Policy

Do I have to be home during the cleaning?

No. In fact, many of our clients prefer us to clean when they’re out of the house. We do ask that you be present for the first cleaning, so that you can meet our cleaning technicians, show them around your home, and make them aware of any cleaning preferences or special requests you may have. Other than that, whether you’re home or not when we clean is entirely up to you.

How do I know I can trust your eco-friendly cleaning crews in my home?

We understand your concerns about your home, property, and family safety. After all, it can be a very personal thing to allow strangers to come in and go through each room in your house. For this reason, we take a lot of pride in our hiring process and developing crews that we would happily allow into our own homes.

Here are a few ways you know that you can trust your residential cleaning crew from ECOMAIDS in your home:

  1. We never hire independent contractors. We believe in creating a team of people that we can trust. The process begins with an online application. Then, we take each candidate through an extensive interview process so that we can get to know the people we will be hiring to provide green cleaning services in your house.
  2. Every person must be eligible to work in the United States. We never hire people illegally. Doing so, we feel, would jeopardize our reputation and the trust we hold with our clients. Because we want to get to know each person in depth before sending them into your house, we only hire people who are eligible to work in our country legally.
  3. We have very specific requirements in terms of skills and experience. Because environmentally friendly cleaning takes extra effort and skill, we are fairly strict on the abilities of the people we hire. We want you to be left with a sparkling home each and every time. Through the experience and high skill levels of our employees, we know we can achieve this.
  4. Every worker goes through credit and background checks. Once we feel we may have a great candidate for someone to do the type of in depth cleaning we require from our crews, we finish the process by going through an extensive background check. This includes checking credit, motor vehicle history, and criminal background.

Get to know our crew better. Schedule a consultation so you can meet the people behind ECOMAIDS and get to know them before they get started making your home spotless.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, check, credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover), and PayPal. Payment is due at the time of service unless other billing arrangements are made in advance.

Will I always have the same cleaning technician(s)?

If you receive regularly scheduled routine cleaning service on a bi-weekly or greater frequency, we make every effort  ensure you receive the same cleaning team each visit, or at least one of the same team members in the event of an employee absence.

You’ll get to know our cleaning technicians, and they’ll become familiar with your home and your cleaning preferences. Unlike other services, with ECOMAIDS you don’t have to worry about a stream of people coming through your home.

Who do you send to clean my home?

ECOMAIDS cleaning technicians are employees of our company. We do not utilize independent contractors. Our hiring process begins with a detailed employment application submitted through our website. We scrutinize each candidate and select for the interview process only those eligible to work in the United States and possessing the requisite skills, experience, and references. We verify all application information and perform credit, motor vehicle, and criminal background checks prior to hiring.

What is your policy concerning gratuities?

Our cleaning technicians take pride in their work and provide top quality service out of respect for their company and its clients.  Although gratuities are certainly appreciated, they are not required or expected. Any gratuities may be given directly to your cleaning technician(s) or included in your payment.

Do you provide references?

Yes. We have many satisfied customers who would be delighted to share details about their ECOMAIDS experience with you. Simply ask and we’ll email you a list of references and contact information.

Can I hire one of your maids directly to perform cleaning or any other services?

We invest significant resources recruiting, hiring, and training our employees in order to consistently provide the highest quality service to our clients. Our employees have entered into non-compete agreements which prohibit them from, among other things, providing services to our clients outside the scope of their employment with us. Should you wish to hire a current or previous ECOMAIDS employee for any home-related service outside of your relationship with our company, we charge a referral fee of $3,500. This fee is due within thirty days of notification from ECOMAIDS. We ask that you refrain from soliciting our employees directly – please contact us should you wish to discuss such an arrangement.

Are you insured and bonded?

Yes. We maintain adequate insurance to cover all areas of our business, including general liability, product liability, and automobile insurance. As an employer we maintain workers compensation and disability insurance for our employees in the event they are injured on the job or become unable to work to due to medical reasons. We also maintain a janitorial service bond which provides indemnity for employee theft, fraud or dishonesty. Together, these policies provide financial protection for our clients, our employees, and the general public.

What is ECOMAIDS cancellation policy?

Our teams dispatch early each morning, and every evening we confirm our routes and prepare our vehicles and equipment for the next day. In order to maintain efficiency and in consideration of our employees’ schedules, we require 24 hours notice for all cancellations. If you need to cancel or reschedule a cleaning for any reason, simply call or email us. Cancellations received less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled arrival time are subject to a $25.00 cancellation charge. If we do not receive any notice of a cancellation or if we are unable to gain access to your home, we reserve the right to charge the full amount of the scheduled cleaning service.

How long does it take to clean my home?

It depends on the size of your home, the type of service being performed, and the overall level of cleanliness Deep-clean services can take up to twice as long as a routine cleaning. To receive a more accurate estimate of the time required to clean your home, simply fill out the form on our website and we’ll get back to you immediately.

Green Cleaning Products and Lifestyle

How do I avoid using harmful cleaners in my home?

The best way to avoid using harmful cleaners in your home is to use basic items such as baking soda, hydrogen peroxide and water to clean your home.

Leading products like bleach contains sodium hypochlorite. This harmful toxin can cause causticity, which is capable of burning things it comes in contact with. An example to show how it eats away at things is when you accidentally mix bleach in with your colored clothes and it takes away the color, now imagine that happening to your skin or your families skin.

Another cleaner to avoid bringing into your home is oven cleaner. Leading oven cleaners contain sodium hydroxide. When this harmful chemical is concentrated like it is in oven cleaners it has the power to burn eyes, skin, and internal organs. It is highly dangerous to just inhale the fumes of oven cleaners. To avoid this harmful toxin from burning your skin, eyes and organs is to simply just use baking soda. Baking soda and water is the safest product to use when cleaning your oven it takes longer but it’s worth your life.

Why are microfibers the preferred cloth for eco-friendly cleaning by ECOMAIDS?

One of the things we pride ourselves on is using microfiber cloths and mops in your home or business to do all of our cleaning. This is because these green cleaning products are not only environmentally friendly, but they are also highly effective—so your home shines without dust or dirt.

The microfiber cloths are made up of very fine threads of polyester and nylon. Each thread is extremely thin—less than 100 times smaller than a human hair. Because of this, when they are woven together they create a surface area that is 40 times larger than that of traditional fibers. This ultimately leads to better absorbency and a cleaner living space for you.

The benefits of microfiber cleaning materials are substantial:

  • Microfibers can reach corners and crevices traditional materials cannot.
  • Microfiber cleaning materials can absorb up to seven times their weight in fluids, so they requires less water to use.
  • Microfiber materials can be washed up to 1,000 times without losing their durability.

Because our microfiber cloths can be used more often with less water, they are considered an environmentally friendly cleaning product. Their long-lasting nature makes them a sustainable cleaning product as well, leaving less waste.

All in all, these products are highly effective for eliminating dust and dirt particles while also being designed in a way that protects valuable resources. Microfiber-based cleaning equipment is long-lasting to prevent unnecessary waste. These factors make them our preferred eco-friendly cleaning product for your space.

How does ECOMAIDS get Green Seal certified for eco-friendly cleaning?

We are proud to be the only professional maid service that exclusively uses Green Seal Certified products in your home or business. These products go through a rigorous evaluation to be determined eco-friendly. In order for ECOMAIDS to get this valued seal of approval, we submitted our application for Green Seal to evaluate our services and products to deem them acceptable for your home. This third-party approval shows the extra effort we have taken to ensure we use and deliver only the best environmentally friendly cleaning solutions for your family.

To get this seal of approval, ECOMAIDS went through the following review process:

  1. Evaluation. We first submitted all the required materials—including ingredient lists and more—to be evaluated for their environmentally friendly components.
  2. On-Site Audit. Next, we showed off our manufacturing and service facilities to an auditor who specializes in determining whether a business is eco-friendly.
  3. Ongoing Evaluation. Once we received Green Seal certification, we were not finished. We continue to go through regular maintenance of our certification and evaluations of the practices we still use.

We believe that getting this seal of approval is important not only for us but also for our customers. It allows us to use a third-party organization to show that we can stand by our commitment to your home and family. You can trust what we use in your home or business because it has been certified by an organization with special expertise on toxin-free green products.

Contact us at (800) ECOMAIDS to learn more about what we specifically do to stay in compliance with this seal of approval and how it can help your family.

How can green cleaning directly impact my business’s bottom line?

One of the biggest concerns for businesses in these trying economic times is their bottom line. With the desire to cut costs wherever possible, companies are constantly looking for ways to lower their overhead expenses and reduce their monthly budget outlays.

By now, you may have heard that one of the easiest and best ways to reduce net expenses is through using an environmentally friendly cleaning service for your office instead of traditional janitorial services.

Here are a few ways eco-friendly cleaning can directly improve your business’s bottom line.

  • Less water. Eco-friendly cleaning means using fewer resources. One of the most precious of resources is water. This is also a costly expense item on many businesses budgets. With ECOMAIDS, you can lower the cost of your monthly water bill while also doing your part to help the environment.
  • High-efficiency equipment. When an ECOMAIDS cleaning crew comes into your office, our workers are armed with high-efficiency vacuums that will leave your air quality improved without sucking electricity from your monthly budgets. This can help you to lower your costs with no effort.
  • Reduced waste disposal. The more cleaning supplies and plastic bottles get tossed into the trash, the more they fill our landfills and contaminate our environment. With green cleaning services, your office can lower the amount of waste produced by your business, which can ultimately save you money.
  • Better employee practices. When ECOMAIDS is contracted to clean your offices in an environmentally friendly way, we go beyond the minimum requirements of the job. When we are done, we leave behind training materials to encourage your employees to keep the office space sanitary using easy green practices, such as limiting waste.
  • Healthier employees. ECOMAIDS commits to sanitizing your offices and workspace, minimizing the chances of infection passing between workers. Healthier employees reduce workplace absenteeism, and that improves business efficiency overall: a direct savings for you.

When you are ready to lower your bills, consider a green workspace as a way to save money and directly improve your business’s balance sheet.

What specifically makes ECOMAIDS a commercial green cleaning service?

A number of companies claim to be environmentally friendly these days—and while most are, some are not. Because of this, many people ask us what exactly it is that makes us able to call ourselves green. The easy answer is that the eco-friendly mentality permeates our way of doing business. To break it down, here are specific areas where we are truly a green cleaning service for businesses around the country.

  • All-natural cleaning products. First and foremost we use only cleaning products that are safe for the environment, and in turn safer for you and your employees. With our all-natural specialized solutions, we can ensure that your common areas and offices are sanitized against illness-causing germs. But more importantly, we are able to ensure that there will be no harsh chemicals left behind to make your employees or the environment sick from toxicity.
  • Environmentally friendly equipment. When we enter any workplace, whether it is a home or office, we use indoor-only shoes. This stops us from dragging in outside agents that can be harmful to your indoor areas. Then, as we clean we use microfiber cloths to pick up the dirt. With a color-coded system we ensure that there is no cross-contamination between rooms that might cause you to be sick from germs brought in from other unsanitary locations. Finally, we use green vacuums that leave your office air quality far cleaner and better for your lungs than when it is sprayed with harmful chemical solutions.
  • Green cleaning practices. Our green cleaning does not stop at the materials we use. We also help your business and our communities by using only the resources necessary to get the sanitary space you need. This includes using less water and less electricity than standard janitorial services.

If your business is ready to go green, start by using environmentally friendly cleaning services from ECOMAIDS. Contact your local franchise for pricing and schedule information.

Why does ECOMAIDS put such a strong emphasis on green cleaning and living?

The founder of ECOMAIDS was an expectant mom who wanted to do what she could to make sure her child lived in a sparkling clean home free from harsh chemicals. To do this, she created all-natural cleaning solutions that sanitized her home and left it looking great.

She quickly realized she could dispose of all cleaning products that leave behind residue that could harm her family. From there, she continued her determination to help not only her family, but also the community where she lived through eco-friendly cleaning and living. This is how she came up with the idea to start ECOMAIDS.

At ECOMAIDS, we are passionate about living a lifestyle that will encourage people to help the environment and help their family at the same time. Through green cleaning, we hope to build a standing in communities around the country that show our dedication to their long-term wellbeing. Here’s how:

  • Using fewer resources. We do not want to drain your neighborhood of resources every time we step foot inside to give your home a thorough cleaning.
  • Protecting your health. We know that harsh chemicals can have a negative impact on the health of children, pregnant women, pets, and others. ECOMAIDS will always avoid using toxic cleaning compounds and dangerous solutions in its operations.
  • Relying on sustainable business practices. We want to leave the community where we also live and work a better place, which is why our green philosophy does not stop at cleaning your home but extends into all areas of our business.

If you want to learn more about why living a green lifestyle is so important to us, contact the ECOMAIDS location in your area today for more information.

How does ECOMAIDS practice green living in other aspects of their business?

This is a great question and one we get asked quite a bit.

Green cleaning is important and has a large number of benefits on the health and wellbeing of the people in the home and the community around that person. But being environmentally friendly does not stop at using all-natural cleaning solutions and measures. Instead, it should permeate into all aspects of our business…and it does!

We are proud of our commitment to using sustainable business practices throughout all aspects of our operations. Here are a few of the ways we continue our green living philosophies outside of your home or office.

  • High-efficiency machines. When we arrive home after a day of cleaning, we need to sanitize each material we used to prepare it for the next day. To do this, we use high-efficiency machines that minimize the amount of water and electricity needed to thoroughly cleanse the towels and cloths we use.
  • Lower usage of gas. Many of the ECOMAIDS personnel drive an environmentally friendly vehicle to and from their worksites, offices, and homes. We also encourage carpooling among employees to help save money on fuel and put fewer fumes into your air supply.
  • Paper-free office. We operate without paper as much as possible. This helps to save the trees and environment. If we ever do need to use paper, we use only post-recycled paper for printing.

These are only some of the ways we extend our commitment to helping the environment into other aspects of our business. If you are interested in getting started as an ECOMAIDS franchise owner and making a difference in your community, contact us today for more details.
