Who We Are

Who We Are

Your Locally Owned Home Cleaning Partner

Carl and Elissa Whittenburg are no strangers to business ownership.  When they were first married, they opened and ran a medical practice in rural Texas for five years.  They loved the challenges of starting something meaningful from scratch and working together for the health of their community.  Over the past couple of years, their three daughters have become passionate about preserving the environment and have helped the whole family make more environmentally sound choices.  The ecomaids opportunity immediately attracted Carl and Elissa to owning a business of which their children would be proud.  They are excited to return to their roots of caring for the health of their community in a brand-new way.

Born in Wilmington, Ohio, Carl lived in the area until he left for the Army after high school.  Carl has a bachelor of arts in political science and master’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of Cincinnati and a master’s degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix. He has extensive experience in consumer-packaged goods market research and nearly twenty years of healthcare leadership experience.  Elissa earned her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and her M.D. from the University of Cincinnati.  She has been practicing internal medicine for twenty years.

Elissa and Carl met at the University of Cincinnati in 1988 and lived in the Cincinnati/Dayton area until relocating to Texas in 2000.  They have lived in Lebanon for the past fourteen years.  Carl and Elissa have three daughters as well as several pets including Ruby the dog, Harry the frog, and Apollo the green anole.

The Whittenburgs love the close-knit Lebanon community and the entrepreneurial spirit of the people whose small businesses make this area unique.  They are both very involved in their community and their daughters’ various sports. They also enjoy going to the symphony and doing outdoor activities, especially hiking and canoeing.  Carl enjoys being a line-judge for his daughter’s volleyball games and watching the Cincinnati Reds.  Elissa enjoys writing, teaching, and art and is an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Lebanon is less than three hours from several major cities in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. The Lebanon area is home to the Golden Lamb Restaurant and Inn, founded in 1803 and the Countryside YMCA, one of the largest YMCAs in the world. Lebanon’s bike trail connects to the 70-mile long Loveland Bike Trail which runs near the Little Miami River.  Unique craft and antique shops line the streets of Lebanon, an old-fashioned train runs through the town offering theme rides throughout the year, and there are local festivals celebrating apples, blues, and the holidays.

In their spare time Carl and Elissa are also active in numerous ministries of St. Francis de Sales Church, supporters of Sacred Heart Radio and Lighthouse Youth Services, and members of the Lebanon Chamber of Commerce.  Elissa and their oldest daughter have also been compassionate entrepreneurs for Trades of Hope, a company that helps women worldwide out of poverty through sustainable business and fair-trade practices. Carl continues to volunteer for the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program, an organization that focuses on quality and process improvement in small and large businesses.
