Waste and Water use

All of our ECOMAIDS Truly–Green residential cleaning service providers purchase products and other cleaning supplies that minimize the amount of waste generated from product packaging. Our cleaning caddies, microfiber laundry bags, product containers, dispensers and applicators, trash bags, and other tools and equipment are all reusable and/or made from post-consumer recycled content. At ECOMAIDS, we also recycle all plastic, aluminum, glass, and paper.

ECOMAIDS uses only Energy Star qualified washers for cleaning all microfiber and other laundry. High efficiency washing machines wash laundry using significantly reduced amounts of water and energy. Most of these washing machines utilize a tumbling action instead of the agitation motion used by traditional washers.

A high efficiency washing machine cycle uses approximately 40% less water, as clothes do not soak or sit in a tub of water. Traditional washing machines will use 40–47 gallons of water per cycle, while high efficiency washing machines use only 11–32 gallons of water per cycle. The energy savings from using high efficiency washers are estimated at about 50–60% per load, with much of that attributed to the significant reduction in hot water required.
